My Must-Have Maternity Trousers

(This is me, Sam and my dog, Bonnie at a dog show ha ha - it's the only photo I have of me in these trousers!)

When I found out I was pregnant my aim was to buy as little maternity clothing as possible so that I wasn't wasting money on clothes I would only use for a few months. Buying tops, dresses and jumpers in a bigger size than normal has worked really well for me so far, and as I'm a fan of the baggy-look I know I'll still be able to get use out of most of them after I've birthed my bubba ha ha. The jumper I'm wearing in the photo above is from Asos and isn't maternity, just a size L ha ha, and it fits me and bump fine.

However buying maternity trousers and leggings seems unavoidable, so it's key to invest in some good 'uns!

I have two pairs of maternity jeans that I've mentioned in previous posts, both from Asos, which I would highly recommend, and owning maternity trousers that are versatile and can be worn with a variety of tops and jackets is very useful. However I'm a fan of mixing things up a bit, so my 'must have' maternity trousers are neither of those ha ha.

The ones in the photo above are amazing! They're not your average trousers, and if you've read my blog before you'll know how much of a fan I am of tartan and check. So it's no wonder these are up there for me.

They're from Topshop and cost £28, so not the cheapest. But they're so comfortable and a really nice material!

I plan on wearing these with a variety of knitted jumpers and baggy t-shirts, and they'll look great with boots, t-bar shoes, sandals or loafers. I paired them with these shoes from Asos when I wore them the other day, and I love how they look together. So they're easier to work with than you might think. And I just think they make me feel less frumpy and written off as a baby-carrying machine, and more young, fashionable and still worthy of good clothes ha ha!

My other favourite maternity trousers are these Wet Look leggings from New Look, although you can't tell they're Wet Look in this picture - sorry about that!

Again I've worn a non-maternity jumper, this time from Primarni. Otherwise known as Primark :-) and I'm really loving it. I bought it in a size 12 (I'm an 8-10 pre-pregnancy) and it fits like a dream - it covers my bump nicely and the sleeves aren't too long. Can you tell I like check? Ha ha.

But back to the leggings ;-)
These are great because being black, they go with almost everything. But the Wet Look spruces them up a bit and again makes me feel like I'm still worthy of nice clothes :-)

On New Look's website they describe these as Leather Look but personally I would say they're Wet Look. They're not as thick or matte as some pre-pregnancy Leather Look trousers I own, so don't expect something leathery if that's what you're hoping for with these, but I still love them.

I can already tell I'm going to get loads of use out of them, and although they're not AS comfy as the check trousers they're still really comfortable as well as being tight and flattering :-)

So if you're after some maternity trousers that are less run-of-the-mill than your average ones but still comfortable and wearable, I would highly recommend these two! And I'm going to try and resist the urge to buy any more and just wear these, along with my maternity jeans, until bubba arrives. But I'll let you know how that works out for me ha ha. I seem to have a bit of a spending addiction!

See you soon!!

Country Bumpkins!

Sorry I didn't do a post yesterday! I'm really gutted because I came back home to Bournemouth yesterday for a week (woop woop!) and my Mum has put up a huge picture board with loads of baby photos of me and my brother on, so it would have been perfect for a Throw Back Thursday post! But I just literally didn't have the time. Me and Sam's train was delayed because of a broken track or something (I clearly listen ha ha) so it took us sooo long to get back! And then we had some family time, some din dins and a bit of a chill and then it was midnight! But I'll definitely be using some of the pics next week :-)

I thought I'd do a quick update on what I've been up to the last few days back in my hometown! Because I've been a bit of a Country Bumpkin ha ha.

Yesterday when me and Sam finally got home we decided to go for a walk in the New Forest with my Mum, Dad and brother and it was so lovely! We got up close and personal with some horses and it was so nice to see fields and green stuff after being in Gibraltar for the whole summer ha ha.

Then today me and Sam decided to carry on with the whole walking thing and took my dog, Bonnie for a walk to the beach.

She's such a babe and I miss her sooo much when I'm in Gibraltar. She's just such a cutie!

(jumper: Asos, dress: Asos, bag: Topshop, boots: Topshop - really old ha ha)

I love this outfit for the start of Autumn, and its great with a bump as well :-)

The black of the jumper stops you looking too whale-like ha ha and I love a bit of layering! And if you've read my blog posts before you'll know how much I'm loving tartan at the moment. I just can't get enough!

This is Sam's first time in Bournemouth and I'm definitely giving him the proper country experience so far! We discovered the most pointless gate in the world ha ha and saw this lovely chap enjoying a casual bike ride...

Love this guy too much ha ha!

I hope you guys have had a good couple of days too! I think tomorrow I'm going to do a baby haul post because I've come back to so many PINKKKK baby clothes from my Mum :-D lovely jubbly! So keep an eye out for that tomorrow!

See you soon!!

Shopping In Landan Town... Pregnant!

Me and Sam went shopping in LANDAN TOWN today, and oh my God it killed me!

Shopping in London is usually my absolute fave! I could troop around for hours and hours going all over the place, from tube station to tube station without a care in the world. But now I'm pregnant I literally couldn't handle life ha ha.

We started off in Covent Gardens where we met my cousin for lunch, and it was so nice! I was all full of energy, looking forward to the day ahead ha ha. I treated myself to a new phone cover from Urban Outfitters because the one I had before was literally falling to pieces, and then we headed to Camden! One of my favourite places ever.

It was all going swimmingly at this point, and I LOVE the coolness of Camden so much :-)

However I didn't really have my shopping cap on and nothing seemed to catch my eye, apart from these trainers:

I kept seeing them everywhere, but at an eye-popping £94.99 (here from Office) I couldn't decide if they were worth the money or not! I've wanted some Nike Air Max trainers for a good few months now so I knew it wasn't an impulse buy, and these ones are just sooooo amazing! I keep picturing all the outfits I could wear them with ha ha. But I decided to hold out for the time being and off we went to Oxford Street.

(cardigan: Primark, dress and necklace: Topshop, trainers: Ebay, bag: Oasis)

(that guy behind me is giving me a real evil-eye because I apparently bumped into him ha ha, I didn't even notice! Look at him staring at me!! Caught on camera evil man)

And in Oxford Street is where the nightmare began! By this point my feet had started to tingle but I thought I could handle it and keep on trooping. But it turns out I could not.

I've never felt pain like it! I don't know whether it's because of the extra weight from a human baby, placenta and general fat-ness in my belly, but oh my Goooood my feet hate me now. The feet pain spread all the way up though my legs to my tummy until I felt like I was going to pass out ha ha ha (good luck to me in labour), but all this happened just as I decided I definitely wanted the trainers. Classic me! Always difficult :-)

So me and Sam kept on going to try and find them in Oxford Street, which was so much more difficult than in Camden! We eventually found them and I ran over, to find that they'd sold out in my size ha ha.

We were forced to give up and retreat home, and now I can't make up my mind whether this is the trainer God telling me not to spend that much money, or if I should definitely, 100% order them online right this second?

Please help me and let me know what you think!

But overall I have discovered I seriously can't handle more than two hours shopping at a time - how devastating! The only positive is that it might help to curb my spending addiction :-) but then there is always online...

See you soon!!

Autumn/Winter 2013 Trends: Check And Tartan

Check and tartan print clothing is one of the Autumn/ Winter trends I've been most obsessing about, and I've found myself spending hours of my life trawling the internet drooling at it! I've been loving everything from jumpers to phone covers to bedsheets... it's taken over my life! Ha ha.

I loved check and tartan last winter but this season it seems to have exploded, which makes me so happy ha ha. I just think it's such a cosy style - perfect for winter. And it's the type of print that you can either invest in a statement, stand-out piece or a bunch of items as it's also easy to match with other things. IN LOVE.

So let's get on with... here's my check and tartan wishlist!

I have to admit I've actually already purchased a couple of these ha ha! But I've ordered them online, so as soon as they've arrived I'll do a haul for you guys.

And I'm sure I'll end up ordering EVEN MORE. I think I might need help!

Let me know what you think of this trend, and if you're as obsessed as I am!

See you soon!!

Autumn/Winter 2013 Trends: Dusty Pink

As much as I love summer and constantly want it to be boiling hot, tanning weather, I actually secretly prefer winter!

Rain and wind are horrible, but feeling cold and snuggling up in a onesie and a blanket watching X Factor is just amazing! And Christmas is my FAVOURITE time of the year. Everyone's happy and excited and it's all so magical :-) but one of the main reasons I love winter so much is the fashion.

Big, knitted scarves, thick mittens, fur coats, chunky boots and loads of layers - it makes me SO EXCITED ha ha. So I thought I'd do a couple of blog posts on my wish lists for the autumn/winter 2013 trends I'm most excited for. Starting with... dusty pink!

This is one of the trends I'm loving the most as I'm a girly girl at heart, so anything pink gets me excited! And dusty pink is sooo beautiful. It's not too in your face and reminds me of the 50s for some reason! I think it looks lovely in lots of different textures, and it's an easy colour to work with. So here's my dusty pink wish list... so far! I'm sure I'll be adding to it ha ha.

I absolutely LOVE the Topshop Vinyl Pencil Skirt, but I'll definitely have to wait until I've birthed the bubba before I can fit in it ha ha. But its AMAZING! My favourite on the list.

I'm loving camis at the moment as well so this one from River Island is my close second favourite :-)

I'm still on the hunt for a dusty pink (fake) fur scarf/ stole, and either a jumper or a jacket! I can picture exactly what I want in my head, and now I just need to find it ha ha.

Let me know what you think of the dusty pink trend, and I'll be back with another wishlist in the very near future!

See you soon!!

Shoe Shopping: Topshop & Mothercare

So me and bump went shopping today :-D ha ha

I managed to persuade Sam to go to town after work to see if there was anything new in the shops for bump, and me and bubba ended up both getting some new shoes! It's like we're besties already ;-)

I absolutely love the little baby booties!! They were from Mothercare and cost £8, but I can't find them on the Mothercare website to link for you guys for some reason. I think £8 is a bit expensive, but I just love them!

They're so cosy and they're all fluffy inside for extra warmth :-) and the little pink cheeks and ears are so cute! Because she'll be born in December these should keep her tootsies nice and warm! Totally worth £8!

(Until she kicks them off the first time she ever wears them and they're lost forever ha ha)

(little 'n' large!)

Oohhhh and the shoes for me are sooo beautiful!!! I can't stop staring at them ha ha. I first spotted these bad boys about a week ago but I resisted the urge to buy them, but I wasn't strong enough today!

They're from Topshop and cost £32, which I don't think is too bad for Topshop. I love the T-Bar and I actually ordered some similar black ones from Asos the other day (I'll do a blog on my many Asos purchases when I get them) so I'm kinda obsessed with the T-Bar at the moment!

I also LOVE the colour. I think red is going to be everywhere next season so I'm sure I'll want to wear them all the time :-D and I'm already planning my outfits! They'll look so great with a cute girly dress, or some leather leggings and a t-shirt! I think you can do a lot with them, even if they are bright red :-) ha ha.

I can't wait to do Mummy and daughter shopping for real now, it's going to be so fun!

Let me know what you think of the shoes, hope you like them!

See you soon!!

Spring/Summer 2013 Top Three Trends Review

From graphic prints to oriental styling this year's Spring/Summer trends have definitely been memorable, and I have been absolutely in love with some. It was really tough to pick my top three, but here they are.

Monochrome

I absolutely love this trend, as it's so easy to put a monochrome outfit together and it's such a classic look.

As Coco Chanel said: "Women think of all colours except the absence of colour. I have said that black has it all. White too. Their beauty is absolute. It is the perfect harmony."

I think it's easy to adapt monochrome outfits to suit your own style and it's hard to go wrong with only two colours!

 90's Comeback

Being a 90's kid I can't explain how much I love, love, love this trend being back in my life! It brings back so many memories and makes me so happy ha ha.

I think it's so fun and easy to put a 90's outfit together, and as long as the trend doesn't go overboard and those HUGE cord flares with chains don't make a comeback then I think it's amazing, and should not end when summer does.

Aw it makes me all nostalgic!

60's Style

It was tough choice between Graphic and 60's for my final favourite trend and I'm a huge fan of both, but I just love all the 60's fashion. I know with the 90's trend being in my top three as well I look like I'm living in the past ha ha, but who doesn't love a bit of vintage?

From the high necks, to the hairstyles, to the AMAZING sunglasses - I don't think there's anything about the 60's trend I don't love. I honestly could buy every single pair of 60's sunnies anyone ever made!

It's such a fun style, and so summery with all the bright colours. And who doesn't love a bit of back-combing?

Let me know which were your favourite Spring/Summer 2013 trends. Lets enjoy them as much as we can in the remaining few weeks of summer!

See you soon!!
